Born in 2007 in Qingdao, Shandong Province, William Dong (Dong Xuanyou) is currently a Grade 11 student at Qingdao Borchardt California School. He showed a strong interest in the piano at around age five and began formal music training shortly thereafter, marking the beginning of his musical journey. During high school, he expanded his horizons by exploring other instruments, including the electric guitar.

In an interview, Dong shared that he started practicing music at about age five and began experimenting with songwriting around the age of 14. It was then that he discovered his ability to transform everyday life experiences into original compositions, using music as a medium to express his inspirations—especially within pop and R&B genres. "Thanks to years of classical piano training," he said, "I’m able to integrate solid traditional musical foundations with contemporary创作 techniques in a cohesive way."

Growing up in a bilingual educational environment, Dong explained that he has always had a deep appreciation for Chinese pop music, particularly the works of artists like Jay Chou. He often listens to their songs with headphones, analyzing their compositional ideas and techniques. He also enjoys blending Chinese pop styles with English lyrics, embracing this unconventional fusion as a form of creative exploration. "I love experimenting with this cross-cultural sound," he said, "and I hope to continue refining my craft along this unique musical path."

Aside from academics, Dong Xuanyou shared that he has also dedicated significant time and energy to his band. He is a founding member of *Air Locker*, a group that has been active for three years, and expressed hope that the band will gain greater recognition and resonance with audiences.

This year, he is also preparing to release his debut Chinese solo album, aiming to launch it before June. By the end of the year, he plans to release his first full English-language solo album. Both albums are set to be released simultaneously on domestic platforms such as NetEase Cloud Music in mainland China and international streaming platforms like Spotify, marking an important step in his journey as a global artist.
